Super Bowl Half-time: Justin Timberlake and the Great Redemption

Back in 2004 Justin Timberlake made headlines not for his performance, but for "accidently" exposing Janet Jackson's breast. Fast forward to 2018 and he not only managed to redeem the faux pas, he up'd the bar for future performers. Let's recap:
The initial scene: Justin playing to a small crowd in a smaller room. It was a social media commentary on how we watch concerts through our fucking phones. Spoiler: don't.
When he takes the field one thing is evident: Justin is a talented artist who either portrays humility or has managed not to take himself too seriously. I would love to thank him for his personal touch to this halftime experience. He played the camera. He engaged with the fans. He gave us the music we love, and he gave us the personality we crave. Then ... then he sat down to the white piano.
I'd heard rumors he would perform with a hologram Prince.  Don't. Just don't. Hologram ... I can't Motown even. He didn't. He dropped a beautiful white screen backdrop and sang harmony to a video of Prince performing to "I Would Die 4U" and it was more moving than I would like to admit. Hand against my heart, I pooled tears as Minneapolis went purple for our lost dove.
I want to thank Justin for performing. PERFORMING.  I want to thank him for the selfie in the stands at the end of his show. I want to know if that kid even knows who he selfied with, but I won't complain too much. Timberlake deserves to continue cultivating generations of fans.
No boobs. No politics. No agenda. Justin Timberlake understood the honor of performing at the Super Bowl and he honored it with a performance for the ages.
